The process of submitting a case to Sandlapper Forensic Consulting begins with an initial (gratis) consultation. This may be done by telephone, Zoom, or face-to-face (if local). The Fee Schedule and David's Curriculum Vitae will be e-mailed upon request.
If it is then agreed that the services of Sandlapper Forensic Consulting are desired, the process will move forward. A professional relationship regarding the case in question will be considered established when David has received either the retainer fee or a court order securing funding and approval for the analyses.
For a comprehensive case file review, it is important that all pertinent documents and media files be submitted as soon as possible. A list of the requested documents can be found as a download at the bottom of this page. This list is intended to provide David with the most complete information for review.
PLEASE NOTE - David remains employed by the Richland County Sheriff's Department as a firearm and tool mark examiner. In order to avoid conflict of interests between the Department and Sandlapper Forensic Consulting, David is currently UNABLE to accept CRIMINAL cases that are being investigated and/or prosecuted within the 5th Judicial Circuit of Court of South Carolina.
